When do you need a mobile app?

A mobile app is a business tool, and as with every tool, the question is what it brings. It's worth it when:

You're building on recurring use

If your customers open your service several times a week, the app is the most convenient entry point, and push notifications are the cheapest way to come to mind again.

The app is the revenue channel itself

Subscription, in-app purchase, booking, ordering: the user pays inside the app, and every bit of friction you remove from their path is measurable in conversion.

You need native features

Camera, GPS, offline mode, NFC, push: these work really well in an app, and only in a limited way in a browser.

UX/UI design and prototype

We build a clickable prototype you can test with real users before a single line of code is written. Mobile UX is a craft of its own: a thumb-friendly interface doesn't happen by accident.

Development and testing

We develop on React Native in two-week iterations; at the end of every cycle you get an installable test version on your own phone. We test on real devices, not just in a simulator.

Publishing, measuring, growing

We take the App Store and Google Play publishing all the way (which can bring surprises on its own), wire up analytics, then operate and develop the app as needed. If downloads and retention also take marketing, we handle that in-house too: our outsourced marketing team picks up where development ends.

Honestly about our AI usage

Of course we use AI intensively too, from design to development. That doesn't mean the same quality would emerge under anyone's hands purely thanks to AI: the tool doesn't replace the experience that decides what's worth building at all, and what merely looks good. What AI actually changes is two things. Our prices today are noticeably lower, and the end result can hold far more fine detail than what would have been imaginable at this pricing even a year ago.

Frequently asked questions about mobile app development

Should we develop for iOS or Android first?+

In most cases neither separately: with React Native we develop for both platforms from one codebase, so you don't have to choose. You reach the whole market for close to the development cost of one app.

How long does it take to build an app?+

A focused MVP takes 2–4 months, a full-featured application 4–8 months. At the end of the concept phase you get a precise schedule, and every two weeks you see an installable version on your own phone.

What's needed for App Store and Google Play publishing?+

Developer accounts, compliance requirements, privacy policies, store graphics, the review process: we handle all of it. Publishing is part of the service.

Can you handle payments, push notifications and login?+

Yes: in-app purchases and subscription management, external payments (Stripe, SimplePay, Barion), push campaigns, social and email login, analytics. The money has to come in; for us that's standard equipment.

Who owns the source code and the app?+

You do: the source code, the developer accounts and the store listing are all your company's property. This matters on the investor side too: a fully owned codebase is part of your company's value.

What happens after handover?+

The app doesn't stand still: operating systems update, users give feedback, new features are needed. We operate, monitor and keep developing it under a monthly support agreement; most of our partners stay with us long-term.

Can you take over or rewrite an existing app?+

Yes. First we audit the existing code, and we tell you honestly what's the better deal: further development or a rewrite. The rewrite isn't always the answer, even if it would be the more comfortable one for a developer.

What's the difference between an app and a mobile-friendly website?+

The website is for everyone who searches for you; the app is for those who return to you. The website is the acquisition tool, the app is the retention tool. If the former is missing, start with web development.

Do you also build apps for internal, company use?+
